Our mission is to improve game quality to fit various needs from different types of consumers. We call this optimization process "Tuning".

Tuning can begin on paper, where we analyze the project proposal. It can begin at the product level, where we test the alpha/beta version of your game. It could also be throughout the project (from the proposal to the finished product). Tuning can take a few days or a few months, and during this period, our skilled team of experts will check and analyze your work in perfect detail to find out what kind of improvements can be made to make the game more fun. Our goal is to make concrete and effective proposals to maximize consumer satisfaction.

A "Tuning" consists of 4 parts:

  • "Monitoring", an analysis of the game, focusing on the game concept and playability.
  • "Evaluation", a global evaluation of the game, from an objective point of view,
  • "Balancing", an adjustment of the game balance, including difficulty, script and flags, and more...

Game development is a synonymous with head-scratching, pen-tapping and other troubles , all in search of finding better game ideas. We believe we are the most dependable to help you with this, and we are sure we can bring you the best solution when facing these problems. Of course, we will be here to help you in any situation. Here are some examples of things we think about during game development.

Monitoring

At the paper level, a team of 3 to 10 experts check and analyze your project proposal over 2 to 5 days. We list the strong and weak points of the idea, and also make recommendations to improve the main concept of the game.

At the alpha version level, we first have a meeting with the client to pinpoint the criteria which should be used to evaluate the game. A team of 3 to 10 experts examine each of these criteria in-depth. This process takes 3 to 10 days. On the demand of the client, we can propose ideas for small events in the game, items, character names, etc...

By repeating this monitoring process, the concept of the game will become more solid. More importantly, it will help find problems in the early phase and shorten the development period.

A written report is compiled after our work. It is also possible to make on-site visits, or to have a feedback session, or brainstorming session, with the monitoring participants.

Evaluation

A global evaluation of the game, from an objective point of view, is done once all the items in the specification have been implemented. A team of 8 to 10 experts will play the game over 3 to 5 days and write a report on several topics, such as "playability", "game design", "sound", and "visual graphics". Afterwards, we have discussions with the experts to review the evaluation to increase the objectivity of the reports. All reports produced during the evaluation process are submitted to the client.

It is also possible to combine the evaluation with a monitoring of one specific topic for a more in-depth examination of it.

Balancing

An improvement process based on the beta version of the game. We will check the playability, scenario, flags or parameters by playing the game entirely and adjusting the game balance to suit the game skill of the targeted consumer group. We also verify if the game play is easy to understand and the learning curve is acceptable. We periodically test games with staffs who are unfamiliar with the game. This ensures that the balancing is suited to consumers who play the game for the first time. Generally, there are 2 to 5 experts involved for 1 to 2 months in this process, but these numbers can depend on the genre and/or the platform.

Planning and Provision of Ideas

We can plan a promotion strategy or product line of character merchandise. Since our staff will have a deep knowledge of the game through the monitoring and balancing process, they will be able to identify, from the player's point of view, the elements which consumers would be most interested in.

Editing Support

Using the thorough understanding of the game's playability, we can help the client to make the user manual or game guide, which will be easily understandable, containing all necessary information.

Filming Support

We can provide video images of the game, as requested by the client, on any media format (memory card, video tape, etc.). We can also send staff to the clientfs studio where the client can record the performance themselves. For a game we have tuned, we will be able to provide a fast turnaround, but for those games we have not tuned, we ask for some time to become familiar with it.

Temporary Staffing

We can send our experts to game events/promotional events to give gameplay demos or tutorials for the consumers. Our experts are also available as MCs, or even to appear on TV shows.

Aggregation & Analysis

Our team can aggregate and analyze the results from questionnaires included with games. This process includes data entry and thorough reports based on a specialized knowledge of the game business. We can also help you make the questionnaire.

Survey

We can make a general survey in co-operation with a research company. We decide with the client the types of questions and the number of samples for the survey. Once we get the result, we make a detailed analysis and submit a report to the client.
